About Godiva

Godiva would be a wonderful schoolmaster for a rider looking to learn the upper level movements and own a Grand Prix horse without spending a fortune. She was showing at Grand Prix as recently as October, 2011 (see photos and video from that show on this page), and has earned her current owner a USDF silver medal, as well as gold medal scores. This mare could do tempi changes standing on her head, all the way up to the one-time changes, and yet could easily be ridden at the lower levels too. She is easy to handle, clip, load, etc. but still has enough temperament under saddle to make her a willing performer at the upper levels (Godiva is older in years, but not in spirit!).

She has been ridden exclusively by classical trainer, Janna Kysilko, for the last five years, and the regular work has kept her fit and sound. Recent evaluations by vet and chiropractor have pronounced her in extraordinary shape for her age. Godiva is pretty low maintenance for an older FEI horse - she is in excellent health, has great feet, and can go without shoes.

Godiva is by the legendary Dutch stallion Zeoliet (by Ramiro), out of a Wiesenklee mare. She was bred in the Netherlands and has her Dutch registration papers, as well as a lifetime USDF registration.

The seller is not interested in leasing arrangements, and does request that prospective buyers have a plan for "end of life" care, if and when retirement would need to be considered.
